If you happen to be getting off or onto a Mumbai local at the Borivali and Khar stations, take a look around you – paintings of soldiers here, animals there, and trees of various kinds, all in bright colours, cover the different walls and the staircases.
Borivali Railway Station got a splendid makeover thanks to the #AweSome folks in Mumbai who used their creativity to make the station lively for the daily commuters. 500 volunteers from MAD (Make A Difference) foundation came together and made this remarkable makeover possible with artistic design and paintings.
Have a look:
Splendid Ticket Window
Aquarium on the Staircase
30 Staircases were painted by the MAD volunteers.
It took just 1 day for this makeover.
The Paintings are breathtaking.
Schoolchildren and working professionals alike helped to decorate ticket windows, stairs, overhead bridges and other areas of the station.
Volunteers first made blue prints for their designs and then proceeded to give the railway stations their face lifts.
Their motivation, as they say, is the Swachch Bharat Campaign.
Several past bids to beautify the station have fallen through.
But this time 500 spirited volunteers will not relent.
They just proved Mumbai is a city of hearts.
With a lot of Talent.
Guys, Welcome to Borivali !
We would request all the daily commuters to be an aware Mumbaikar and help in keeping this station clean and make it a example for the country to follow and improve the commuting experience.
