Get Ready: Facebook Dislike Button is on its way!
Over the years, there have been myriad requests from facebook users for including a ‘Dislike’ button in facebook. But the CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg always refuted the claims of a dislike button.
After years of denial on making a facebook Dislike button, a counter to its ‘Like’ button, Mark Zuckerberg finally confirmed that they are indeed working on making the dislike button a reality very soon.
“I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years. Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we’re working on it and shipping it”, he said.
Zuckerberg has admitted in the past that the company has considered building a Dislike button, but ultimately decided against it. Presumably, it had to do with the fact that at the time it didn’t want to integrate a way to express negativity toward other users, or create a system of upvoting or downvoting, as online news forum Reddit does.
“That isn’t what we’re here to build in the world”, Zuckerberg said on Tuesday.
However, Facebook has realized that sometimes people might want to express differently other than the ‘like’ button, but have currently no other better option. He said the use of a “dislike” button would be for sad posts — deaths, crises, and other negative everyday life situations faced by its users.
“What they really want is the ability to express empathy. Not every moment is a good moment”.
Exactly! We really ‘LIKE’ this Mark. We think this was due long back but we are glad that facebook has decided to change its mind and introduce the most awaited ‘Dislike’ button.
