The story that you are about to read is nothing short of a miracle which happened at 19000 feet above the sea level.
6 days ago, Siachen was hit by a massive avalanche wherein 10 soldiers were buried alive. But 1 soldier has been miraculously pulled out alive under 25 feet of snow after 6 days.
For 6 days, the survivor Lance Naik Hanaman Thappa lay buried under 25 feet of snow in temperatures hovering above -40 degrees.
Rescuers on ground are calling it unbelievable as in -45 degrees the man managed to keep himself alive for six days under the cover of ice.
Koppad was immediately rushed to a warm tent on the camp site where the medical team tended to him.
The Army’s rescue parties were cutting through up to 30 feet of ice at multiple locations where the soldiers could probably be buried.
“The probable locations are identified using specialised equipment”.
We salute the Indian Army for not giving up their rescue efforts, it is their grit and determination in the toughest of conditions that made this miracle rescue possible. Lets pray for Hanuman that he recovers very soon to tell us the biggest rescue story ever.
