Media Today is very closely linked to youth and hides its huge demeanor in falsetto. Media has the power to influence and question everyone but the ones who are most affected by it are the younger side of the generation.
Social networking websites like Twitter, YouTube, MySpace and Google have created easy inundation of information among the present generation and the ability to assess critical thinking along with slack and lack of authority recognition.Mtv, Vh1 are portraying and pushing youth to be things that they actually aren’t and have created many nods of disapproval among parents and like. If you think media and its haphazard are bad now, imagine the future?
It has also created a stir of confusion among the society and youth on what to think of today’s society? It has led to many after-effects like Crime, Vandalism, drugs, drink, sex, teenage pregnancy and so on.
Well, well the list goes on in this range, but what I would like to put forth is? If these are true then from where does these rebellious attitude actually stem from? It all lies in the upbringing of today’s youth. Ultimately it lies in the hands of the parents to gauge the kind of person their child should be, but media also plays a substantial role in the same.
It portrays an image of what we should actually be , through constant bombardments in advertising, opinions , images which shows women to be better than what we actually are , slimmer, prettier and what not ?
Though the media executives are quick to guard and defend their role in youth mal-practices like cyber-bullying, abusing and so on still music labels have legitimately increased the level of violence and sexual content that aim only the youth. Personally I believe that, any kind of media cannot influence you if you have your own objective to meet.it is highly essential to remember and accept that social media can only attract consumers eventually only the consumer stability can give value to food or clothing or gadgets. The media and its many components should come to realize that the way they sway their elite customers to the product, if is not excellent then it can be a boomerang to the same. Media and its influence are actually over-rated since it can only propagate and not influence.
Media and its effects are actually co-related and therefore make it highly difficult to actually gauge if people who are more prone to violence watch violent shows or watching it makes them violent. If you look deeper into its notches you will see it pin-points to these key-notes,
The major attribute here is, Sexuality. It is becoming more and more explicit by nature and is targeting mostly the younger generation. Even the ratings of the movies have become less strict these days and it has increased the rate of teenage pregnancy.
Media supports as well as promotes violence on a ringing note and with regular exposure to violence they learn to incorporate the same in their interaction with peers and believe that it is acceptable in nature. There is a high range of substance abuse in movies these days and there aren’t many movies that do not make use of drugs and alcohol at least once. And makes teen believe that when they abstract themselves from the same they may be left singled-out from the cool machos of the so-corrupt society. And most importantly it is necessary to remember that photo shopped bodies are not real. They portray models to be ones to live them are what we are supposed to be striving for which can totally lead to unhealthy choices and behaviors.
It is necessary to remember that Media is a one-faced communication provider and when It tells you what is there, and it pulls you into its grip, it does not suggest you or tell you what problems you may face later with it so comprehend the do’s and don’ts before jumping headlong in to it anyways.
Always draw a line where it is necessary and
REMEMBER TO WATCH OUT FOR, WHAT IS TRYING TO HUNT YOU DOWN!!
